Obviously Gobang Social and “Flip” are board games that we have adapted to be optimised for iPhone. This involved using social media (and other mechanisms) for connecting players and also building our own proprietary server technology.
At the same time we have been testing out a whole range of development tools to see how they fit in with what we are doing.
Alongside this we have also been developing a number of other game ideas which are now at various stages of completion. Some of these have arisen out of our “Creative Wednesdays” when development staff can do what they want, some are from Andrew Graham who is prototyping full time and some are full time projects that are part of the normal production flow.
Out of all of this creativity we now have at least 8 projects that should ultimately see the light of day. They build on what we have learned already with Gobang Social whilst bringing original thinking to the game mechanics. And they are all designed to be fun.
With Gobang published and Pussy Flip at Apple for approval we are now moving away from board games. It is time for some creativity in the game mechanic!
Next up is BLT, which is a physics game which is looking to be a whole pile of fun.
Andrew Graham is still working up one of his prototypes which does some new and interesting things.
The members of the Pussy Flip team are spoiled for choice with some excellent game designs having been created on creative Wednesdays. They are spoiled for choice.
Meanwhile don’t forget that because Kwalee specialise in multiplayer games a lot of your game experience depends on our server. So we are putting a lot of effort into this and there are a huge amount of new features that have been added with each revision of Gobang and now with Pussy Flip. Look forwards to even more social content and server game features with BLT. We are determined to give the best possible server experience.
